Highland Springs Country Club is a premier golf course in the area, and annually hosts the Price Cutter Charity Championship.   This tour event has been held at Highland Springs every year since 1990.  Highland Springs Country Club is not only a lush location for golfers and health enthusiasts, but also the centerpiece of a John Q Hammonds master-planned community consisting of 39 villa lots, 360 single-family lots for private homes, and 20 acres zoned for commercial use.  Robert Trent Jones II, a San Francisco firm renowned for its golf course designs, planned the 18-hole golf grounds.  Jones utilized the Dogwood, Elm, Maple, and Walnut trees found on the property to produce a course with rolling hills, local foliage, and streams that flow across the land.  This setting became a course that measures 7,115 from the longest tees for a par 72 with a course rating of 74.9 and a slope rating of 144.  The fairways and tee boxes utilize sodded Zoysia leading to A-1/A-4 Bentgrass greens.

This premier golf course community also features a full club house with dining and social bar, Olympic sized pool with both a 1 meter and a 3 meter diving boards, outdoor bar with poolside service, and 5 tennis courts.

Millwood Golf and Racquet Club is a championship golf course featuring all the normal amenities you would expect from a standout facility.  The 18-hole championship Golf Course designed by Greg Martin is nestled in south Springfield.  From the Championship tees the slope rating is 134, challenging the low handicap golfer but not too hard to scare the average golfer. Composed of Zoysia fairways, Blue Grass/Fescue roughs and Crenshaw Creeping Bent grass greens, the course is strategically designed to include gently rolling, tree-lined terrain complemented by fairway and greenside bunkers, ponds and creeks. Fremont Hills Country Club offers great golf course living in Nixa.  Established in 1969, Fremont Hills has matured into an outstanding club.  The Hood-Rich Engineering firm represented by Paul Lewis worked out the design for the first nine holes.   Additional property had also been purchased in the sixty’s for a second nine holes which were developed in 1987. The course is now 18 holes with tree lined fairways, small fast greens, large sand traps, small lakes and water features, and a beautiful new club house that was expanded in 2004.

The 20,000 square foot clubhouse offers a main dining room, full service bar, and a more casual couples dining area.  The pool has multiple amenities including a zero entry resort style pool, 25 yard competition 5 lane swimming area, diving board, and lounging areas with full poolside service.

Hickory Hills Country Club is Springfield’s first private club incorporated in 1934. By honoring the past while looking toward the future, the club has distinguished itself as a community dedicated to a tradition of excellence. The club’s original golf course was built in 1926, designed by John T. Woodruff and modeled after the great St. Andrews Links in Scotland. While the course has changed in size since its inception, the beautiful setting and great game it delivers has not.

Hickory Hills Country Club proudly claims the late 2 time US Open Champion Payne Stewart and LPGA Champion Cathy Reynolds as well as 6 golfers who have achieved Missouri Amateur Champions, more than any other club in the state. Deer Lake Golf Club is a GreatLife Golf & Fitness facility located in Springfield. Features include an 18-hole golf course, practice facilities, restaurant and lounge, and fitness center. Deer Lake Golf Club first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by William W. Amick. The course is relatively flat with a nice mix of both open and wooded holes. Seven ponds have been incorporated into the course design. The course has a very unique feature. Five of the holes are located across Interstate 44. Access is gained via an underground cart path tunnel that crosses under the split 4 lane highway. Seven ponds have been incorporated into the course design. Deer Lake plays to a par-72 and maximum distance of 7,001 yards. The course rating is 74.1 with a 128 slope rating.

Island Green is one the Ozark’s most beautiful golf facilities.
